In a recent video posted by Facebook page, Tulfo News, we witness another act of abuse from a foreign employer to a Pinay OFW. The woman is seen washing the dishes when her male employer comes in.
They appear to be talking but the audio from the video is too muffled to figure out what they were saying. But you can see that the Pinay OFW doesn’t look directly at the face of her boss. The male employer then moves closer to the woman., immediately touching her on the shoulder.
The woman continues to do her job, ignoring what her boss was doing. The male foreigner seemed to step back, giving the Pinay some space but then does something worse. He gets closer than before and touches her without permission. First he puts his hand on her head, but when she tries to get away. He the places his hand on her waist.
The employer’s gestures seemed to imply that he was asking her what’s wrong. But the Pinay OFW keeps saying no and puts space between the both of them.
He still didn’t leave her in peace to do her job. With the employer’s face in full view, you could see him look at her differently. He kept talking to her and touching her. The woman’s cries of ‘no’ ignored.
The man steps back and the woman goes to the sink to get back to her job. He then immediately invades her personal space, getting really close. She keeps shaking her head to what the male employer is saying.
His harassment levels up when he starts to grind his lower half into the woman. She continues to say no and shakes her head but he won’t stop. This goes on for quite a long time then he puts his arms on the sink to block any way out for the Pinay OFW.
She tries to get out but he was too strong. The man kept pushing and grinding on to her. You catch a glimpse of the woman’s face nearly in tears. She tries hard to get out of the man’s embrace then the man lets her go and leaves the camera’s view.
This isn’t the only case of abuse Filipina women get from their employers abroad. There is also a story of a woman getting brutalized and harassed by her Arab employer.
We only might have seen a short peek in the lives of our hardworking women. This is something they experience everyday in their lives abroad. We must continue to expose this kind of treatment to stop this abuse and protect our people who only want a better life.
