Duterte: Campaign vs. illegal drugs to continue despite worldwide criticisms.
President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday said that the government's campaign against illegal drugs would continue despite worldwide criticisms or pressure.
"The fight will not stop until those who deal in it understand that they have to cease, that they have to stop because the alternative is either jail or hell," Duterte said in his second State of the Nation Address, which started at 4:25 p.m. at the Batasang Pambansa.
Duterte called out critics who condemned him for this war on drugs and told them to use their influence to educate the people on this addiction.
The President also stressed that he values human life.
"I will not allow the destruction of youth. I value human life the way I value mine. You harm the children, and I will hound you to the very gates of hell," he said.
"Look beyond your biases, your prejudices, ambition and your political agenda," he told his critics. — RSJ, GMA News
